Autonomous Guided Vehicles (aAGV) of the proANT System

InSystems engineers and manufactures customized autonomous guided vehicles that can be seamlessly integrated into your factory.

Loads, transport routes and handling heights are unique to each and every production site. If the aim is to fully integrate an aAGV fleet into a production site two options exist: either the aAGVs are tailored to the existing environment, or the production is modified to fit a standard aAGV. In our case, we tailor the aAGVs to fit the customer’s requirements. When the aAGVs are adapted to the existing production site, no modification on the existing machines or storage warehouses are required.

The transport routes in the costumer’s plant remain equally usable by robots and workers, because the proANT aAGVs are able to safely interact with humans. Certified security functions enable the robot to identify humans and enter into a safe halt, even if someone suddenly steps into their path. The proANT aAGVs navigate autonomously. They individually find their path, avoid obstacles and calculate alternative routes to reach their goal in the shortest possible time. To avoid jams or system halts, the proANT aAGVs communicate among each other and manage their traffic.

To achieve the detection of humans, drive, battery technology, control and communication, we rely on standardized and proven components. During our various projects, we have built up a modular system with which we are able to build many different types of vehicles. Typically, we manage loads of 20kg to 200kg, but also loads of over 1000kg are manageable.

Components of a proANT aAGV System

Our autonomous guided vehicle systems are composed of the following components:

Hardware

  • 1 to n vehicle (s)
  • at least one charging station
  • optional: opportunity charging on a transport source or goal.

Software

  • AIC – AGV Interface Controller
  • fleet management software
  • optional: Visualizations

Communications

  • WLAN for the communication between vehicles and software components among each other
  • communication components for the hardware handshake between aAGV and machine or stations (e.g. data light barriers)
